Begin to Dream Again was established in January 2016 in the State of Massachusetts and received its 501(c)(3) charitable organization status the following month. The organization was founded by Tanisha Salmon, who turned a personal heartbreak into a mission to uplift others. Just two weeks before her wedding, Tanisha faced the devastating news that her fiancé was canceling the ceremony. Left with a broken heart and a fully paid, non-refundable venue, she decided to find purpose in the situation. Instead of letting the venue go unused, she organized a fundraiser to benefit approximately 200 homeless women.
Through planning the event, Tanisha discovered the staggering challenges faced by women living in poverty and homelessness. The success of the fundraiser ignited a new passion within her. This time, her dream was not about an exotic honeymoon but about creating a safe haven for women whose lives had been derailed by addiction, abusive relationships, or homelessness. With the help of five extraordinary women who share her commitment to empowering others, Tanisha began turning her vision into reality through Begin to Dream Again. The organization’s early success was made possible by a dedicated board of volunteers and the unwavering support of community members who believe in its mission.
Today, Begin to Dream Again strives to restore hope and dreams for women who have experienced significant life challenges. With the continued backing of community leaders and compassionate individuals, the organization is committed to empowering women to rebuild their lives and achieve their full potential.
